A Quick Guide to Sizing and Framing Your Print
To preserve as much of the original, panoramic detail of the internal crystalline structures as possible, our prints are offered in a wide 2:3 aspect ratio. This format is beautiful, but it is helpful to know what to expect when it comes time to hang your new piece.
Here is a quick guide to finding frames for our available sizes:
🟩 The "Grab & Go" Size (Easiest to Frame)
24" × 36" (Large Statement Piece): This is the universal standard "large poster" size. You can easily find affordable, ready-made frames for this size on the shelf of almost any major retail store (Walmart, Target, etc.) or online.
🟨 The "Craft Store & Online" Sizes (Moderate to Frame)
12" × 18" (Small Display): A popular "mini poster" size. You can sometimes find these frames at big box stores, but you will have a much wider selection by checking craft stores like Michael's or ordering online.
16" × 24" (Medium Display): A standard fine art photography size. While you might not find this during a standard retail run, pre-made frames are incredibly easy to order online or pick up at a dedicated craft or framing store.
20" × 30" (Large Display): Similar to the 16x24, this is a standard large photo size that is widely available online and at art supply stores, though less common in general retail.
🟥 The "Specialty" Size (Hardest to Frame)
8" × 12" (Desk/Shelf Size): Because this is not a standard retail size, you will likely need to order an 8x12 frame specifically online. Pro-Tip: The easiest way to display this size is to buy a standard, easy-to-find 11"x14" frame and pair it with a custom-cut photo mat that has an 8"x12" opening!
